Maria B. Polizzi

Forty-three years

She has been doing this since before you were asking who cuts your hair.

A barbershop floor in Queens, a chair in New York, and since 1999, a room on Falls of Neuse with her own name on the door.

About

Hello, I’m Maria.

I moved to Raleigh from New York in 1999, and I’ve been immersed in the world of hair for over 43 years. Ever since I was a little girl I spent most of my days at my father’s salon, and I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to get behind the chair and begin my own journey.

I love creating styles that bring out my clients’ excitement and confidence, and my top priority is making sure everyone leaves my chair looking and feeling their absolute best. I’m looking forward to meeting you and getting my hands in your hair.

What she works with

  • Wella Color
  • Brazilian Blowout
  • Hair Extensions
  • Hair Toppers

Second generation

She grew up in her father’s
barbershop.

Madison Men’s Barbershop, on Northern Boulevard out in Auburndale. Maria spent most of her days on that floor waiting to be old enough to get behind the chair herself.

The shop is gone now. The trade came with her — to New York first, then to Raleigh in 1999, and into a room on Falls of Neuse with her own name on the door.
